Part of the map covering the Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar area.
Field work by 1 Troop, 19 Topographic Squadron, Nizwa, Oman
Compilation and printing by 42 Survey Engineer Regiment, Cyprus

This part of the map was sent to me by Dave ‘Streak’ Hobson in August 2006. It was the first time I had seen any part of any one of the maps of Oman reproduced by 42 Survey Engineer Regiment in Cyprus (this one I believe in 1961) and based on field work carried out by N° 1 Troop in Oman.
It is satisfying to know that we produced such good-quality maps (at least aesthetically).
