More memories from DaviD Swindlehurst

a reminder of the accommodation bashas. Wonderful

Christmas lunch 1957 at Gillman. On the left Geoff Barson and me. On the right (front) Rex Joy, ?, Joe Dalziel, Curly
 Pattinson (with head-dress).

groupof3 is me, John Mitchell and Wilf Marron (posing in blazer) in the bar of Raffles Hotel

turkey2 is me standing with a Turkish MP in Ankara, December 1956, whilst awaiting a replacement aircraft (the original was wrecked on landing).

surveyors1 was taken in Gillman Barracks Singapore, though I cannot remember when or why. Back row: Cpl Bowra, ?, John Mitchell (draughtsman), Max (not his real name - he just looked like Max Bygraves)(machine minder), Smith (?), Bob Fisher, Joe Dalziel (draughtsman), Cpl Dennis Martin. Front: Jock Speedie, Wilf Marron (machine minder), me, Bob Schofield (driver) and 2 whose names I've forgotten but I think they were drivers.

singaporedo shows Joe Dalziel (left) and (I think) SSgt Mont Iliffe in discussion about Joe's unreasoning refusal to adhere to standard line thicknesses - he had some hang-up about how roads should be drawn. Otherwise he was a real good bloke.
